Climb Monteblanco to see La Manga between two seas

El Mirador de Monteblanco occupies the highest point of the Monteblanco estate, at km 3 of La Manga del Mar Menor. From its platform you take in the Mediterráneo, the Mar Menor and the strip of land between them all at once.

What you can see

Few spots in the area let you see the shape of La Manga at a single glance. To the south you can make out Cabo de Palos. At the top is the Monte Blanco survey point of the Instituto Geográfico Nacional, at 45,8 metres above sea level.

Given its orientation, the sun rises on the Mediterráneo side and sets over the Mar Menor in the afternoon.

How to get up there

The estate road climbs almost to the top. According to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional, if you leave the car at the end of the street you reach the survey point in a one-minute walk.

Before you go

Entry is free and the visit is short. There are no toilets, bar or restaurant at the top.

Very close by, next to Galúa beach, is the Mirador del Galúa (Plaza del Mar), so you can do both in one outing. For more ideas to round off the day, see places to visit in La Manga.
