Where to stay
Apartments in La Manga del Mar Menor
It is the most common way to stay in La Manga. Which area suits you and what to look for before booking.
At a glance
The apartment is the most common accommodation in La Manga, where there are plenty of buildings with access to both beaches. Prices vary a lot depending on the season, area and views, and in July and August it is best to book well ahead. Choosing the right kilometre is as important as choosing the apartment.
First, choose the area
It is the advice we repeat most. Two apartments at the same price can give very different holidays depending on the kilometre: in the first ones and in the centre of La Manga you will have restaurants, shops and atmosphere within walking distance, and towards the north you gain peace and quiet, although you will need the car more often.
If you plan to get around without a car, look between Cabo de Palos and the first kilometres, where line 44 runs and there are shared electric bikes.
What to look for before booking
That there is air conditioning in the bedrooms too, that the building has a lift if the flat is on a high floor, and that it includes a parking space, which is very welcome in summer.
Ask about the orientation too: apartments facing the Mar Menor get the sunsets, and those facing the Mediterráneo get the sunrises.
Make a note
In high summer many owners ask for a minimum stay, often a week. Out of season it is easier to book just a few nights.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an apartment cost in August?
It depends a lot on the area, the size and whether it has a pool or sea views. August is the most expensive month, and in June or September prices drop quite a bit.
Can I book individual nights?
In high season it is less common, because many owners ask for a week minimum. The rest of the year it is almost always possible.
